We had reported a couple of days ago that SJ Suryah might be acting in the sequel of Saroja under the direction of AJS Kantha Priyan, a former associate of Venkat Prabhu. But a few sections of the media had reported that Venkat Prabhu would himself wield the directorial hat once again for this sequel.

Director Venkat Prabhu who is busy giving finishing touches to the popular sequel of Chennai 28 II innings expressed his anguish over the rumours of him doing the sequel of Saroja .

"It is an absolute baseless rumour.  I am on the verge of giving finishing touches to Chennai 28 II innings. My subsequent projects are all set to be announced and this plan of Saroja 2 is not at all in my scheme of things. My concentration is on Chennai 28 II innings now and the focus is to recreate the magic of 2007 again in 2016".
